Juniper is a Bernese Mountain Dog, she is 4 years and 4 months old. She has accomplished a lot in those 4 years.

Juniper is a delightful girl, she has a lovely rock solid temperament.
She loves to play the “running game” for cookies, she literally runs back and forth between my hubby and I for a cookie when we call her name, kind of like a dog who likes to chase a ball, except that Berners generally are not retrievers, except when it comes to food…
This game has inadvertently built in a really strong recall, that was a side benefit we did not expect. But it has come in handy many times when I needed her to return from something interesting. She comes bounding back as she would in the “running game”!
Juniper is also very good at sniffing, our walks are painstakingly slow, but they are her walks after all, so I go at her pace while she sniffs every nook and cranny.
That sniffing skill has translated into lots of K9 Nose Work titles, along with the few titles that show off her good manners!

Terri gives me the best cookies when I play the “running game” with her and my dad. She also let’s me sniff as much as I want when we are walking in the neighborhood. It’s my choice as to what we do and where we go on my daily walks, she just happily follows along.
Terri sure knows how to dish out those heavenly cookies when I partake in our oh-so thrilling “running game” with her and my dad. Oh, and let’s not forget her boundless generosity in permitting me to indulge my olfactory senses to the fullest during our little strolls around the neighborhood. It’s absolutely delightful that I hold the reins on our daily excursions, call the shots, and decide where we gallivant and what activities we engage in, while Terri ever so graciously plays second fiddle, tagging along every step of the way. How fortunate am I to have such a wondrous companion on my scent-filled adventures!
